About Host A Hive
If you want to have bee hives at your home or business and don’t have the time, knowledge, or interest in tending to them, Host-a-Hive is for you. We supply all the equipment, honeybees, and maintenance that the bees require. Hosting hives on your property will benefit the plants and wildlife in your yard, your neighbor’s yard, and the entire community within a three mile radius.
How it works:
Apply for the program and we will come inspect your property and identify the best location to place a hive.
After approval of the site location we will build a hive stand and place a minimum of two hives on your property.
A Queen & Comb certified beekeeper will maintain the hives throughout the season.
You will receive:
The multitude of benefits that come with having honeybees on your property. This includes increased pollination, larger and more prolific blooms, larger and more prolific harvests of fruits and vegetables.
Twelve 9 ounce jars of raw, local Queen & Comb Honey per year.
The educational benefits of observing a hive of honeybees throughout the season.
The satisfaction of knowing you are a part of the solution to the pollinator crisis by providing a safe habitat for a colony of honeybees.
You will give:
$175/month for 1, $100/month for each additional. $135 initial consultation and $250 setup fee
A suitable location as identified by Queen & Comb and approved by the property owner.
Unrestricted access to the hives by Queen & Comb to maintain and manage the bees.
